Voice (āĻŦাāĻ্āϝ)
Voice is the form of the verb which indicates whether the subject does the work or something has been done to it.

Types of voice:
There are two types of voice:
- Active voice (āĻāϰ্āϤৃāĻŦাāĻ্āϝ)
- Passive voice. (āĻāϰ্āĻŽāĻŦাāĻ্āϝ)
Active voice:
āϝে sentence āĻ subject āύিāĻে āϏāĻ্āϰিā§ āĻŦা active āĻšā§ে āĻাāĻ āϏāĻŽ্āĻĒāύ্āύ āĻāϰে āϏে sentence āĻ verb āĻāϰ Active voice āĻšā§।
Structure:
Subject + verb + object.
Example: He flies kites.
Passive voice:
āϝে sentence āĻ subject āύিāĻে āĻাāĻāĻি āĻāϰে āύা āĻŦāϰং object āĻāϰ āĻাāĻāĻি āϤাāϰ āĻāĻĒāϰ āĻāϏে āĻĒā§ে āϤāĻāύ āϏে sentence āĻ verb āĻāϰ passive voice āĻšā§।
Structure:
Object + be verb + verb āĻāϰ past participle+ by+ subject.
Example: Kites are flown by him.

Rule 2:
Indefinite tense:
a) Present indefinite – am, is, are.
b) Past indefinite – was, were.
c) Future indefinite – shall be, will be.
Continuous tense:
a) Present Continuous- am being, is being, are being.
b) Past Continuous – was being, were being
c) Future Continuous - shall be being, will be being.
Perfect tense:
a) Present Perfect – has been, have been.
b) Past Perfect- had been.
c) Future Perfect- shall have been, will have been.
Rule 3:

Structure:

Passive- Football is played by us.
Active- Men wear ties.
Passive- Ties are worn by men.

Structure:
Object āĻāϰ subject + am being/is being/are being + verb āĻāϰ past participle form + by + subject āĻāϰ object.
Active: I am playing football.
Passive: Football is being played by me.
Active: He is eating rice.
Passive: Rice is being eaten by him.

Structure:

Active: We had dug the cannel.
Passive: The cannel had been dug by us.

Structure:

Active: I may help you.
Passive: You may be helped by me.
Active: You must do the work.
Passive: The work must be done by you.
Active: We ought to obey our teachers.

Active: One should take care of one’s education.
Passive: Education should be taken care of.
Active: One should tell the truth.
Passive: Truth should be told.
Active: One should look after one's parents.
Passive: Parents should be looked after.
āĻŦ্āϝāϤিāĻ্āϰāĻŽ:
* Honey tastes sweet.
= Honey is sweet when it is tasted./ Honey is tasted sweet.
* Tamarind tastes sour.
= Tamarind is sour when it is tasted/ Tamarind is tasted sour.
* Rice sells cheap.
= Rice is cheap when it is told./ Rice is sold cheap.
