Need এর ব্যবহার

 

Subject যদি Neuter gender ( book, pen, chair..) বা  ক্লিবলিঙ্গ অর্থাৎ অচেতন পদার্থ হয় তাহলে need এর পরে যে Verb টি থাকবে সেটির সাথে ing যোগ হবে ।

যেমন-

• The car needs repairing.
• Your hair needs cutting.
• These furniture need selling.
• The boat needs painting.
• The pen needs changing.
• The shirt needs sewing.

Subject যদি প্রাণীবাচক (animalistic) হয় তাহলে need এর পরে to বসবে এবং to এর পরে যে verb বসবে সেটির Present রূপ হবে।

যেমন-

• I need to go there.
• You need to finish the work.

Negative Sentence এ need ব্যবহৃত হলে Subject 3rd Person Singular Number হলেও Present Indefinite Tense এ Verb এর শেষে s বা es যোগ হয়না।

যেমন-

• He need not go there.
• She need not go to college.
• Mahi need not swim in the river.
• Rahi need not play cricket.
• We need not go to the market.
• Shipra need not come here.

Note: can, could, may, might, should, would, must, used to, ought to, need to, has to, have to ইত্যাদি Modal auxiliary verb যদি sentence এ কোন কিছুর নিশ্চয়তা, সম্বাবনা, অসম্বাবনা, প্রয়োজনীয়তা, অনুমতি, বাধ্যবাধকতা ইত্যাদি ভাব প্রকাশ করে থাকে, তবে বাক্যের Subject third person singular number হলেও মূল verb এর শেষে s বা es যোগ হবেনা ।
