What is an idiom? An idiom is an expression or phrase whose meaning does not relate to the literal meaning of its words. In other words “Idioms mean something different than the individual words.

White Elephant
āĻ¯া āĻুāĻŦ āĻĒ্āĻ°ā§োāĻāĻ¨ী āĻ¨ā§, āĻিāĻ¨্āĻ¤ু āĻ¸েāĻাāĻ° āĻāĻ¨্āĻ¯ āĻ āĻ¨েāĻ āĻাāĻা āĻāĻ°āĻ āĻāĻ°āĻ¤ে āĻšā§। āĻ¯া āĻ āĻ¨েāĻ āĻŦ্āĻ¯ā§āĻŦāĻšুāĻ˛।
Ex: He invested his savings in the business and it's turned into white elephant đ.
White Lie
āĻāĻāĻা āĻোāĻ āĻŽিāĻĨ্āĻ¯া āĻāĻĨা āĻ¯েāĻাāĻ¤ে āĻাāĻ°ো āĻ্āĻˇāĻ¤ি āĻšā§āĻ¨া āĻŦা āĻেāĻ āĻĻু:āĻ āĻĒাāĻ¯়āĻ¨া।
Ex: I like the dinner (but you actually didn’t because you don’t want to hurt her)
White Colour
āĻ¸āĻŦāĻিāĻু āĻĒāĻ°িāĻĒাāĻি, āĻŦা āĻ¨িā§āĻŽ āĻ āĻ¨ুāĻ¯াā§ী āĻšā§ে āĻĨাāĻে।
Ex: Your job is a white colour job.
Blue Colour

Ex: I have the blues in this winter clime because it becomes dark so early these days.

Ex: The magistrate may be from blue blood.
To Paint the Town Red
āĻŦাāĻāĻ°ে āĻুāĻ°া, āĻļāĻĒিং āĻāĻ°া, āĻāĻ° āĻাāĻā§া āĻĻাāĻā§া āĻāĻ°া।
Ex: After finishing my exam, I would go to paint the town red.
Red Tape
āĻোāĻ¨āĻিāĻুāĻ° āĻļুāĻ°ু āĻāĻ°āĻ¤ে āĻ¯ে āĻ¨িā§āĻŽ āĻŦা āĻ§āĻ°াāĻŦাāĻ§া āĻ°ā§েāĻে āĻ¸েāĻুāĻ˛োāĻে Red tape āĻŦāĻ˛ে।
Ex: Starting a company means, we have to go through red tape.
Roll out the Red Carpet
āĻাāĻāĻে āĻাāĻ˛āĻাāĻŦি āĻাāĻ¤িāĻ° āĻ¯āĻ¤্āĻ¨ āĻāĻ°া।
Ex: His friend rolls out the red carpet for him when he visits her.
Red Herring
āĻāĻāĻা āĻāĻāĻ¨া āĻ¯েāĻা āĻĒ্āĻ°āĻ§াāĻ¨ āĻ˛āĻ্āĻˇ āĻĨেāĻে āĻŽāĻ¨োāĻ¯োāĻ āĻ āĻ¨্āĻ¯ āĻĻিāĻে āĻ¨িā§ে āĻ¯াā§।
Ex: The police investigated this case, they had a lot of clues, but everything turned out to be red herring.
Catch Somebody Red-Handed

Ex: He was caught red-handed stealing money from the office.
Silver Spoon in one’s Mouth

Ex: Working in an online business company is a golden opportunity.
Golden Parachute

Ex: The company is at loss because of the manager, but he still lots of money.
Green with Envy
āĻোāĻ¨ āĻাāĻ°āĻŖে āĻাāĻāĻে āĻšিংāĻ¸া āĻāĻ°া।
Ex: That girl got the dress that was my favorite. And the dress is sold out of the store and that’s why I am green with envy.
Green Light
āĻোāĻ¨ āĻিāĻু āĻāĻ°াāĻ° āĻāĻ¨্āĻ¯ āĻ āĻ¨ুāĻŽāĻ¤ি āĻĒাāĻā§া।
Ex: I got the green light to watch a movie with her.
Green Area
āĻোāĻ¨ āĻিāĻুāĻ° āĻŦ্āĻ¯াāĻĒাāĻ°ে āĻ¨া āĻাāĻ¨া।
Ex: This Physics chapter is a green area for me.
