 Cloze test with/without clues সমাধানের নিয়ম

ইংরেজি ২য় পত্রে মূলত দুই ধনের Cloze test রয়েছে। যেমন-

a. Cloze test with clues.

b. Cloze test without clues.

1. Cloze test with clues:

এ Item টিতে ১০টি শূন্যস্থানসহ একটি Passage দেয়া থাকবে। প্রদত্ত Passage টির উপরের অংশে একটি Box এর মধ্যে দশের অধিক (১২ থেকে ১৪টি) শব্দের একটি তালিকা দেয়া থাকবে। ছাত্রছাত্রীদের কাজ হল Passage এ প্রদত্ত Sentence গুলোর Tense Number ও Person অনুসারে (প্রয়োজনীয় ব্যাকরণগত পরিবর্তনের মাধ্যমে) Box থেকে উপযুক্ত শব্দ নিয়ে blank সমূহ পূরণ করা।

2. Cloze test without clause:

এ Item টিতে ১০টি শূন্যস্থান একটি Passage দেয়া থাকবে। কিন্তু শূন্যস্থানগুলো পূরণ করার জন্য কোন clue বা সংকেত শব্দ দেয়া থাকবে না। ছাত্রছাত্রীদের কাজ হল, Passage টি ভালোভাবে পড়ে অর্থ অনুধাবন করে এক বা একাধিক word এর মাধ্যমে শূন্যস্থান পূরণ করা। এ ক্ষেত্রে সহজে সফল হওয়ার জন্য ছাত্রছাত্রীদের Parts of speech, Tense, Sentence সহ Grammar এর মৌলিক বিষয়সমূহ ও Vocabulary সম্পর্কে ধারণা থাকতে হবে।

Cloze Test-এর কৌশলসমূহ

শূন্যস্থানে Noun বসানোর নিয়ম

নিয়ম ০১

বাক্যের শুরুতে যদি শূন্যস্থান (-) থাকে এবং পরে মূল ক্রিয়া বা সাহায্যকারী ক্রিয়া থাকে তবে শূন্যস্থানে Noun ব্যবহৃত হবে। ব্র্যাকেটের পদটি Verb হলে, এর সঙ্গে ing যুক্ত (Gerund) হবে, অথবা, Adjective হলে Noun ব্যবহৃত হবে। যেমন-

(a) (Brave) is strength.

Ans: Bravery is strength.

N.B: উপরের ব্র্যাকেটে যে brave পদটি রয়েছে তা Adjective যার Noun হল bravery

(b) (Walk) is a good exercise.

Ans: Walking is a good exercise.

উদাহরণের ব্র্যাকেটে রয়েছে Walk, যা verb। সুতরাং এর সঙ্গে ing যোগ করে (walking) Noun করা হয়েছে।

 

নিয়ম ০২

 

(a) শূন্যস্থানের (-) বামদিকে Article এবং ডান দিকে preposition থাকলে শূন্যস্থানে Noun ব্যবহৃত হবে। যেমন-

She has done a (duty) for her.

Ans: She has done a duty for her.

(b) শূন্যস্থানের (-) বামদিকে Adjective এবং ডান দিকে Preposition থাকলে শূন্যস্থানে Noun ব্যবহৃত হবে। যেমন-

We have bought a beautiful -(gift) for our friends.

Ans: We have bought a beautiful gift for our friends.

(c) শূন্যস্থানের (-) বামদিকে অথবা উভয়দিকে Preposition থাকলে শূন্যস্থানে Noun/Gerund ব্যবহৃত হবে। যেমন-

He believes in (work) for the development of the country.

Ans: He believes in working for the development of the country.

You cannot prosper in life without ~(work) hard.

Ans: you cannot prosper in life without working hard.

The purpose of (read) history is different.

Ans: The purpose of reading history is different.

 

(d) শূন্যস্থানের (-) বামে Some/any/few/a few/little/a little/many/more/much/only/every/each/no ইত্যাদি থাকলে শূন্যস্থানে Noun ব্যবহৃত হবে। যেমন-

He has done many .....(job)

He has done many jobs.

(e) শূন্যস্থানের (-) বামদিকে verb এবং ডানদিকে Preposition থাকলে শূন্যস্থানে Noun ব্যবহৃত হবে। যেমন-

He helped (Suchi) for complete improvement.

He helped Suchi for complete improvement.

 

(f) শূন্যস্থানের (-) বামে article+Adjective থাকলে শূন্যস্থানে Noun ব্যবহৃত হবে। যেমন-

A good (decide) is the pre-condition of success.

A good decision is the pre-condition of success.

(f) শূন্যস্থানের (-) বামে সাহায্যকারী ক্রিয়া এবং ডানে Noun থাকলে শূন্যস্থানে Noun ব্যবহৃত হবে। তবে এ ক্ষেত্রে বাক্যের অর্থের ওপর নির্ভর করে verb ও ব্যবহৃত হতে পারে। অবশ্যই মনে রাখতে হবে দুই Noun এর মাঝে যথার্থ Preposition ব্যবহার করতে হবে। যেমন-

He has -(believe) God.

He has belief in God.

শূন্যস্থানে Adjective বসানোর নিয়ম

(a) শূন্যস্থানের (-) বামে মূল ক্রিয়া এবং ডানে Noun থাকলে শূন্যস্থানে Adjective ব্যবহৃত হবে। যেমন-

He is doing (complicate) works.

Ans: He is doing complicated works. (Verb-> Adjective-> Noun)

(b) শূন্যস্থানের (-) বামে Subject এবং ডানে Preposition+Noun থাকলে Adjective ব্যবহৃত হবে। যেমন-

The students (goodness) at Maths can get better marks.

Ans: The students good at Maths can get better marks.

(c) শূন্যস্থানের (-) বামে Article এবং ডানে Noun থাকলে শূন্যস্থানে Adjective ব্যবহৃত হতে পারে যেমন-

(i) An (honesty) man can never tell a lie.

Ans: An honest man can never tell a lie.

(ii) (quality) candidates become successful.

Ans: Qualified candidates become successful.

(d) শূন্যস্থানের (-) বামে Be verb এবং ডানে Preposition থাকলে শূন্যস্থানে Adjective ব্যবহৃত হবে। যেমন :

She is (experice) in any handicrafts.

Ans: She is expert in any handicrafts.

(e) শূন্যস্থানের (-) বামে Adverb থাকলে শূন্যস্থানে Adjective ব্যবহৃত হবে।যেমন :

The man is very (strength) now.

= The man is very strong now.

N.B. বাক্যটিতে Be verb থাকলে শূন্যস্থানে অবশ্যই Adjective ব্যবহৃত হবে। কিন্তু মূল Verb থাকলে অবশ্যই Adverb ব্যবহৃত হবে। বাক্যের সবশেষে শূন্যস্থান (-) থাকলে শূন্যস্থানে Adverb কিংবা Adjective ব্যবহৃত হবে তবে তা নির্ভর করছে বাক্যের অর্থের ওপর। যেমন-

He is (pious)

Ans: He is pious 

N.B. Adjective-এর আগে Article থাকলে শেষে Noun হয়, Article না থাকলে Noun না। He is honest. He is an honest man.

(f) শুরুতেই শূন্যস্থান (•) থাকলে এবং ডানে Subject থাকলে শূন্যস্থানে Article/Adverb/Adjective ব্যবহৃত হয়।

যেমন-People dream of a good future.

Ans: Some people dream of a good future.

 

শূন্যস্থানে Verb বসানোর নিয়ম

০১. শূন্যস্থানের (-) বামে Adverb এবং ডানে O.W (other words) থাকলে শূন্যস্থানে Verb ব্যবহৃত হবে। অবশ্য এক্ষেত্রে বাক্যের অর্থের ওপর নির্ভর করে এবং Tense অনুযায়ী Verb ব্যবহার করতে হবে। যেমন-

Some people are (work) in the field.

Ans: Some people are working in the field.

বি.দ্র. শূন্যস্থানে Adverb কিংবা Adjective ও ব্যবহৃত হতে পারে।

০২. শূন্যস্থানের (ক্স) বামে Subject এবং ডানে O.W (other words) থাকলে শূন্যস্থানে Tense অনুযায়ী Verb ব্যবহৃত হবে। যেমন-

He (guide) the students properly.

Ans: He guides the students properly.

০৩. শূন্যস্থানের (-) কিছুই না থাকলে এবং ডানে O.W থাকলে শূন্যস্থানে Verb-এর present form ব্যবহৃত হয়। তবে এক্ষেত্রে দেখতে হবে O.W দ্বারা কোনো আদেশ/উপদেশসূচক বাক্য প্রকাশ করছে কিনা। যেমন-

(Help) the poor.

Ans: Help the poor.

০৪. শূন্যস্থানের (-) বামে Adverb এবং ডানে Noun Phrase (Article+Adv.+Adj+N) থাকলে শূন্যস্থানে Verb ব্যবহৃত হয় Tense অনুযায়ী। যেমন-

A balanced application always (qualify) the post.

Ans: A balanced applicant always qualifies the post.

০৫. Passive form হলে (বাক্যে দুটি verb থাকলে) ২য় verb-এর সাথে ing যোগ করতে হয়, অথবা verb টির পূর্বে to (উদ্দেশ্য বুঝালে) বসে। যেমন :

We aren't (permision) go out of home.

Ans: We aren't permitted to go out of home during pandemic.

I saw him (go). = I saw him going.

I don't want (leave) this place. =I don't want to leave this place
