A Friend in Need Is a Friend Indeed

 Two Friends and a Bear

Or,

A Friend in Need Is a Friend Indeed

Once in a certain village there lived two young boys. They were very good friends and vowed that they would never depart from one another at the event of any danger. They used to go to school together, play together and also sometimes went for any expedition together.

Once they were going through a deep forest. They were amazed to see the beauty of the forest. It was too deep a forest that they did not notice when they reached at the middle of the forest. All of a sudden, they noticed that a big, black and fierce bear was approaching them.

The first friend knew how to climb a tree. So, he at once climbed a high tree in order to save his life from the attack of the bear. But unfortunately, the second friend did not know the art of climbing a tree. So, he was in a dilemma what to do and how to save his life.

Suddenly he remembered that a bear does not eat a dead body. Thinking so, he at once lay flat on the ground holding his breath tightly as if he had been dead. The bear came to the lying friend, took smell of the body and mistook the person to be dead. The bear was not interested to attack a dead body and went away.

When the bear went away, the first friend who climbed the tree came down and asked his friend what the bear whispered into his ear. The second friend replied that the bear had told him not to trust a friend who leaves other friend at the time of danger. From that day their friendship broke.
