📘 Degree of Comparison – Easy English + বাংলা (Grammar Tips)

✅ 1. Comparative Degree-এর পরে সাধারণত "than" বসে।

কিন্তু কিছু Latin Comparative Words-এর পরে than নয়, to বসে।

📌 এগুলো মনে রাখুন:

Senior to = সিনিয়র

Junior to = জুনিয়র

Superior to = শ্রেষ্ঠ / উত্তম

Inferior to = নিকৃষ্ট / নিম্নমানের

Prefer A to B = A-কে B-এর চেয়ে বেশি পছন্দ করা

Examples: ✔ He is senior to me.

✔ I am junior to him.

✔ This product is superior to that one.

✔ Your result is inferior to mine.

✔ I prefer reading to writing.

✅ 2. Comparative-এর পরে সাধারণত "than" হয়।

Traditional Grammar অনুযায়ী than-এর পরে Subject (Nominative Case) ব্যবহার করা উত্তম।

✔ He is taller than I (am).

✘ He is taller than me. (Formal Grammar অনুযায়ী ভুল; তবে Spoken English-এ "than me" খুবই প্রচলিত।)

✅ 3. দুই বা তার বেশি Syllable-এর Adjective হলে Comparative ও Superlative করতে সাধারণত "more/less" এবং "most/least" ব্যবহার হয়।

Example:

Beautiful → more beautiful → most beautiful

Beautiful → less beautiful → least beautiful

9. far ( time).......further.......furthest

11. far (place)........farther......farthest

💡 Remember:

Farther = physical distance (দূরত্ব)

Further = additional / extra (অতিরিক্ত, আরও)
