Types of making questions or interrogative 


1. Yes/No Questions: / Polar question 


Ask for a simple "yes" or "no" answer.


Are you happy?


Do you like ice cream?




2. Wh- Questions/ Open ended question / Free question


Use question words (who, what, where, when, why, which, whom, how..) to get specific answers.


What is your name?


Where do you live?




3. Choice Questions

Give options to choose from.


Do you want tea or coffee?


Is it red or blue?




4. Tag Questions

Add a small question at the end of a statement.


It’s cold today, isn’t it?


You like this movie, don’t you?




5. Rhetorical Questions

Don’t need an answer, used for effect.


Who doesn’t love holidays?


Isn’t this amazing?


6. A declarative question is a sentence that is structured like a statement but is intended to ask a question. It typically ends with a question mark. For example:


"You’re coming with us?"


"She’s the new manager?"



These questions rely on context, tone, or inflection in spoken language to convey that they are questions.
