A time you overcame fear

Overcoming My Fear of Public Speaking

I used to be very scared of speaking in front of people. My heart would beat fast, and my hands would shake. Last year, my teacher chose me for a speech competition. I wanted to say no, but I knew I had to be brave. I practiced every day with my family and friends. On the competition day, I was very nervous, but I took a deep breath and started speaking. As I spoke, I felt better and finished my speech. I was so happy when I won second place! That day, I learned that facing our fears makes us stronger. Now, I feel more confident when I speak in front of others.
