Being a national, English has not been easy for me. It Is the truth that English plays a vital role these days in communication as much as out local language. It is also an important factor for education. Even though there is no limitation when it comes to knowledge, however it does come in handy to make somethings a lot easier. The fundamental factor of spoken English is to spread your wings to a wider range. Maybe all these words may be a little terrifying let me tell you a story about something that happened to me a long-time ago. I was naturally a poor student but when I get things right which was not often, I used to gest very defensive about myself. It happened so that I had to get my copy checked and I bought a friend copy along with me too. When I had to start describing my quarry, I couldn’t speak more then a hand full of words. I stammered and couldn’t find the right words had to think about whether it was has or had or either or neither it was so embarrassing to talk like that in front of my teacher and some girls who gave me a disguised look. There us this feeling that you go on the pit of your stomach when things get so embarrassing that you can’t even lift your face. And that feeling let me to run home after classes end and start watching English movies. After a month or two I started reading books and after that I got pretty fluent in English impressing the strangest of people.
So, if your reason is to prove yourself stop stammering and start impressing the crowd so be it. But one should not underestimate the power of hard work. Because it was hard work to watch more then 500 movies to get where I am. After almost 100 books and tons of articles later I found my voice of confidence. And how can we not ignore the impression we make of us to another person when we converse. It feels sweet when the result of all the work turns into an achievement that lasts a long time. You see it’s not the language that gives you the confidence it’s the dare you gain by facing someone. let’s not even get started on the benefits of it in the academic and professional life.
The survey says that people who speak English fluently ha more job opportunities. How would it feel like to lose a job over this? You may have first class first you may be brilliant at your job even better than all the other applicant of this job but losing it over something as this must be very embarrassing. Even in university you need to speak good English for good presentation. A business man can access far wider range of customers using English. It gives a kind of confidence to people about he compony. It gives an international vibe and also makes someone think about foreign customers.
And it makes it easier to travel. Because in the countries that are really big on tourism consider English as their first language or second language. It is a must in many organizations as to the availability of international students. The world gets more diverse the nation also starts to evolve so as to bring a community or nation together and working together may help in a lo of situations that we may not even think of.
