Yes, I have visited a railway station and a bus stand several times. Everytime I went there with my parents or with my maternal uncle. Last month I went to Kamalapur Railway Station with my uncle to receive my grandfather. There I had to wait quite a long time as the scheduled train was almost one hour late. Of course, there are some similarities and dissimilarities between a bus station and a rail station. The similarity between these two is that people use both for traveling from one place to another. In the bus station or railway station, the bus or train waits for the passengers to get on or get down. a bus stand is also crowded as well as noisy like a railway station. In both of the stations there are some small shops from where passengers can buy snacks, newspapers, betel leaves etc. I have also seen some tea stalls or coffee vending machines over there. In case of dissimilarities between these two is that a bus station is for buses and a railway station is for trains.. A railway station has a station master but a bus stand there does not have any station master. In a railway station there are lot of porters wearing red coloured shirt and Lungi as well. But in a bus stand I have never seen such type of porters.
I saw many things in the stations. Some of them were very interesting to me like various types of hawkers were hawking their goods in the station. I came across many deaf and dumb beggars begging for alms. I eventually came to know from my uncle that all of them were not actually deaf and dumb. They were just pretending. It was very interesting to me and at the same time it also upset me greatly. The most interesting thing I saw in the station was that when any bus is about to leave the station or to enter the station, every person on the bus or the surrounding area becomes very happy. I find it very interesting while I saw happiness in the face of people. I also enjoyed the rush of the people when a bus or a train starts its engine to start the journey. But I did not like the pollution in the stations at all. Our government should take some pragmatic steps to ensure the congenial atmosphere of the bus station as well as the train station.
