‘Dreams’ by Langston Hughes

Hold fast to dreams

For if dreams die

Life is a broken-winged bird

That cannot fly.

Hold fast to dreams

For when dreams go

Life is a barren field

Frozen with snow.

Theme:

The poem deals with importance of time in human life. Everybody should hold his/her dream up. Dreams provide us with hope, solace and comfort. They help to lead his/her life to the right path of goal/success. In a word, without dream his/her life will be that of a winged bird which cannot fly.

Meaning(অর্থ):

কবিতাটি মানব জীবনের সময়ের গুরুত্বকে নির্দেশ করে। প্রত্যেকেরই নিজের স্বপ্নটি ধরে রাখা উচিত। স্বপ্ন আমাদের আশা, সান্ত্বনা এবং প্রশান্তি প্রদান করে। তারা তার জীবনকে লক্ষ্য / সাফল্যের সঠিক পথে পরিচালিত করতে সহায়তা করে। এক কথায়, স্বপ্ন ছাড়া তার জীবন ডানা ছাড়া পাখির মতো হবে যা উড়তে পারে না।
