7. Friendship is nothing but a name.

=Isn't friendship but a name?


8. Life is nothing but full of actions.

=What is life but full of actions?

=Isn't life but full of actions?


9. It is no use memorizing answer for any examination.

=Why memorize answer for any examination?

=Is there any use of memorizing answer for any examination?


10. It does not matter/ it matters a little if we lose the game.

= What though if we lose the game?

Convert the following sentences into negative. ( Answers are given for you) 

1. As soon as the mother saw her son, she embraced him.

= No sooner had the mother seen her son than she embraced him.

2. Everybody hates a liar.

= There is nobody but hates a liar.

3. She had much money.

= She didn't have a little money 

4. I have many friends.

= I don't have a few friends.

5. She loves me a lot.

= She doesn't hate me at all.

6. We must help the poor.

= We can't but help the poor.

7. He is both a teacher and a singer.

= He is not only a singer but also a teacher.

8. Only Allah can save us.

= None but Allah can save us.

9. I play only football.

= I play nothing but football.

10. He is only 7 years old.

= He is not more than 7 years old.

11. I am doubtful.

= I am not sure.

12. He is too weak to walk 

= He is so weak that he can't walk.

13. He was too weak to carry the load.

= He was so weak that he couldn't carry the load.

14. Dhaka is the dirtiest city in the world.

= No other city in the world is as dirty as Dhaka.

15. Ruhi is taller than Rahi.

= Rahi is not as tall as Ruhi.

16. Gold is not as as costlier as diamond.

= Gold is less costlier than diamond.

= Diamond is costlier than gold.

17.  I see you when you come here.

= I never see you but you come here.

18. Whenever I go out, I wear a mask.

= I never go out but wear a mask.

19. She is too smart  to be cheated.

= She is so smart that she can be cheated.

20. Anger is a vice.

= Anger is not a virtue.

21. I have to buy a new bike.

= I can't but buy a new bike.

22. They came here for the last time.

= They will never come here again.

23. Speak the truth.

= Don't fail to speak the truth.

24. He answered every question.

= He left no question unanswered.

25. It is a noble work.

= It is not an ignoble work

26. He is literate.

= He is not illiterate

27. It is rational.

= It is not irrational.

28. Anger is a vice./ curse.

= Anger is not a blessing.

30. He is brave/ courageous.

= He is not coward.

31. Man is mortal.

= Man is not immortal.

32. Books enrich our minds.

= Books don't impoverish our minds.

33. He is always late. 

= He is never punctual.

34. I have to/ must  do the work.

= I can't but do the work.

35. We must help the poor.

= We can't but help the poor./ We can't help helping the poor.
