It Was a Great Day!       Lessons 1-2

A. Listen and read (শোন আর পড়).

Last January I went to a cub camporee (গত জানুয়ারি মাসে আমি তরুন স্কাউটদের একটি ক্যাম্পোরিতে গিয়েছিলাম). It was my first visit to a cub camporee and it was my first time away from home (এটি ছিল তরুন স্কাউটদের ক্যাম্পোরিতে  আমার প্রথম ভ্রমন এবং এটি আমার প্রথম বাড়ি থেকে দূরে যাওয়া)! A camporee is a gathering of cubs from different parts of Bangladesh (একটি ক্যাম্পোরি বাংলাদেশের বিভিন্ন অংশ থেকে আসা তরুন স্কাউটদের একটি সমাবেশ). Cubs all over the world have their own camporees (সারা বিশ্ব জুড়ে তরুন স্কাউটদের নিজস্ব ক্যাম্পোরি রয়েছে).

The cub camporee took place in Sreemangal under Moulvibazar district (মৌলভীবাজার জেলার অন্তর্গত শ্রীমঙ্গলে তরুন স্কাউটদের ক্যাম্পোরীটি অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছিল). To get there, we travelled from Dhaka to Sreemangal by train (সেখানে যাওয়ার জন্য, আমরা ট্রেনে করে ঢাকা থেকে শ্রীমঙ্গলে গিয়েছিলাম). We arrived in the morning, so the weather was nice (আমরা সকালে পৌঁছেছিলাম, তাই আবহাওয়া সুন্দর ছিল). We walked to our camp from the train station (আমরা ট্রেন স্টেশন থেকে আমাদের ক্যাম্পের দিকে হাঁটলাম).

There were 10 of us and two leaders (সেখানে আমরা ১০ জন এবং দুই জন নেতা ছিলাম). We were a big group, so we didn't take any rickshaws (আমরা একটি বড় দল ছিলাম, তাই আমরা কোনও রিক্সা নিইনি). We walked together in our group (আমরা আমাদের দলে একসাথে হাঁটলাম). It wasn't very far (এটা খুব বেশি দূরে ছিল না). At the camp, we cleaned up the area, set up our tents and prepared our breakfast (ক্যাম্পে, আমরা এলাকাটি পরিষ্কার করেছিলাম, আমাদের তাঁবু স্থাপন করেছিলাম এবং আমাদের প্রাতঃরাশ প্রস্তুত করেছিলাম). After breakfast, we played games with cubs from other parts of Bangladesh (প্রাতঃরাশের পর, আমরা বাংলাদেশের অন্যান্য অংশ থেকে আসা তরুন স্কাউটদের সাথে খেলাধুলা করেছিলাম). Then we had lunch (তারপর আমরা দুপুরের খাবার খেলাম). We cooked rice and chicken (আমরা ভাত এবং মুরগির মাংস রান্না করেছিলাম). In the afternoon and evening, we sang songs and recited poems (বিকেলে এবং সন্ধ্যায়, আমরা গান গেয়েছিলাম এবং কবিতা আবৃত্তি করেছিলাম). It was fun (এটা ছিল মজার ব্যাপার)! At night, we slept in our tents (রাতে, আমরা আমাদের তাঁবুতে ঘুমালাম).

The next day, after the camporee, we went to Lowachara National Park (পরের দিন, ক্যাম্পোরের পরে, আমরা লোয়াছড়া জাতীয় উদ্যানে গিয়েছিলাম). It was very interesting (এটা খুব আকর্ষণীয় ছিল). We took a walk beside a small stream in the forest (আমরা বনের মধ্যে একটি ছোট জলপ্রপাতের পাশে হাঁটতে লাগলাম). Our leaders told us to be very quiet because the animals are frightened by noise (আমাদের নেতারা আমাদের খুব শান্ত থাকতে বলেছিলেন কারণ প্রাণীরা শব্দে ভয় পায়). We walked quietly up a small hill, and suddenly we heard something in the trees above our heads (আমরা শান্তভাবে একটি ছোট পাহাড়ের উপরে হাঁটলাম, এবং হঠাৎ আমরা আমাদের মাথার উপরে গাছগুলিতে কিছু শুনতে পেলাম।). We looked up and saw a gibbon (আমরা উপরের দিকে তাকালাম এবং একটি হনুমান দেখতে পেলাম). It was moving quickly through the trees (এটা গাছের মধ্য দিয়ে দ্রুত চলে যাচ্ছিল).

After our visit to Lowachara National Park, we went to the Nilkantha Tea Cabin (লোয়াছড়া জাতীয় উদ্যান পরিদর্শনের পর, আমরা নীলকণ্ঠ চা কেবিনে গিয়েছিলাম). This is a famous place to drink tea in Sreeroongal (শ্রীরুঙ্গলে চা পান করার জন্য এটি একটি বিখ্যাত জায়গা). The Nilkantha Tea Cabin sells a glass of tea of different colours and flavours (নীলকণ্ঠা টি কেবিন বিভিন্ন রঙ এবং স্বাদের এক গ্লাস চা বিক্রি করে). It was amazing (এটা বিস্ময়কর ছিল)! I will never forget my visit to Lowachara National Park (লোয়াছড়া জাতীয় উদ্যানে আমার সফর আমি কখনই ভুলব না). It was a great day (এটা একটা দুর্দান্ত দিন ছিল)!

I went to Sonargaon. I went there at 10 am on 14 December, 2021. I went there with my parents. We went there by bus. At first we visited the Folk Art Museum. We saw there valuable things used by medieval rulers of the country. Then we went to the Panama city. It was founded by the aristocracy in the British period. We saw there magnificent buildings, sign of aristocracy in them and their dance rooms. We ate lunch and drank soft drinks. It was a great day for me.
