1. Cricket is a  popular game. Both the young and the old (a) —- (get) pleasure from this game. In fact, cricket (b)—- (call) the gentlemen’s game. It (c) —- (entertain) us with politeness and discipline. A sense of brotherhood and fraternity (d) —- (create) among the playing nations through it. At present cricket is the most popular game in Bangladesh. The English (e) — (play) it here in this subcontinent and since then it (f) —– (become) an internal part of our entertainment. Our team (g) —– (consist) of skilled players. They already (h) —- (show) their performance in serial matches. But it is a matter of sorrow that sometimes our players (i) — (play) so poorly that our countrymen (j) —- (become) astonish. 

 Answer: (a) get; (b) is called; (c) entertains; (d) is created; (e) played; (f) has become; (g) consists; (h) has shown; (i) play; (j) become.

Explanation: 

1. প্রথম লাইনটিতে কোন Gap নাই। চলুর ২য় লাইন দেখি।
2. Both the young and the old (a) —- (get) pleasure from this game. ২য় লাইনটিতে Both the young and the old (a) —- (get) pleasure from this game. এখানে Both… and ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে। আমরা জানি Both… and ব্যবহার করে একের অধিক ব্যক্তি বা বস্তুকে যোগ করা হয়। অর্থ্যাৎ Both… and ব্যবহার করে এখানে Plural Subject যোগ করা হয়েছে। আর ক্রিকেট খেলা দেখে বৃদ্ধরা এবং যুবকরা আনন্দ পায় এটি একটি স্বাভাবি বিষয়। এখানে
3. Subject Third Person Plural আর ঘটনাটি স্বাভাবিক তাই, Sentence টি Present Indefinite এর গঠন অনুযায়ী get এর কোন পরিবর্তন হবে না। অতএব উত্তর (a) get.

1. In fact, cricket (b)—- (call) the gentlemen’s game.
   এই বাক্যটিতে বলা হয়েছে cricket (b)—- (call). এখানে Subject হলো Cricket আর Verb হলো Call. Call অর্থ বলা/ডাকা। কিন্তু Cricket তো আরা বলতে বা ডাকতে পারে না।মানে Subject এখানে কাজ করছে না। আর Sentence এর Subject কাজ না করলে, সেটি Passive Voice হয়। ‍Structure হবে: Subject + auxiliary verb + v এর P.P + ext. আরেকটি বিষয় লক্ষণীয়- এই Passage টি Cricket নিয়ে স্বভাবিক কথা বলছে। তাই Verb টি Present Indifinite হবে। ‍Subject  যেহেতু Cricket – Third Person Singular Number, তাই Present Indefinite এর Auxiliary Verb- is হবে। এবং Call এর Past Participle হবে Called. অতএব Answer: is called.
2. A sense of brotherhood and fraternity (d) —- (create) among the playing nations through it.
   ব্যাখ্যা: এই Sentence টিতে দেখেন, ব্রাকেটের আগে রয়েছে A sense of brotherhood and fraternity. বিশাল একটি Preposition- of যুক্ত Phrase. কিন্তু এই বিশাল Phraseএর পুরো অংশ  বাক্যের  Subject না। ‍Subject হলো শুধু Of এর পূর্বের অংশ। অর্থ্যাৎ A sense এই অংশটুকু।আর Sense হলো একটি Abstract
