Narration of Assertive Sentence

 



Assertive Sentence āĻāϰ Narration āĻĒāϰিāĻŦāϰ্āϤāύ


Rule-1: Assertive Sentence āĻ•ে Indirect Narration āĻ•āϰাāϰ āϏāĻŽā§Ÿ ঃ

(i)  Reporting verb-say/said āĻĒāϰিāĻŦāϰ্āϤিāϤ āĻšā§Ÿে Tell/ Tells/Told āĻšā§Ÿ (āϝāĻĻি Object āĻĨাāĻ•ে, āĻāĻ•্āώেāϤ্āϰে Tell/Tells/ Told āĻāϰ āĻĒāϰে to āĻŦāϏে āύা),āĻ•িāύ্āϤু āϝāĻĻি Object āύা āĻĨাāĻ•ে, āϤāĻŦে Reporting verb āϟি āĻ…āĻĒāϰিāĻŦāϰ্āϤিāϤ āĻĨাāĻ•ে +

(ii) Inverted Comma āωāĻ ে āĻ—ি⧟ে that āĻŦāϏে +

(iii)Reported Speech āĻāϰ āĻĒāϰিāĻŦāϰ্āϤিāϤ Subject +Verb +āĻŦাāĻ•ি āĻ…ংāĻļ āĻŦāϏে।

Examples:2. Direct   : Wasi said to Lima, “I am going to Sirajganj.”

Indirect: Wasi told Lima that he was going to Sirajganj.

3. Direct   : Sumaiya said, “I had a beautiful garden.”

Indirect: Sumaiya said that she  had a beautiful garden.

Rule-2 : “Innovative Focus on -3rd Person”-Direct Narration āĻ Reported Speech āĻāϰ āĻ…āύ্āϤāϰ্āĻ—āϤ 3rd Person āĻ•āĻ–āύāĻ“ āĻ•āĻ–āύāĻ“ Indirect Narration āĻ First/Second Person āĻ āĻĒāϰিāĻŦāϰ্āϤিāϤ āĻšā§Ÿ। 

Examples:

1. Direct   : My tutor spoke about me, “He will stand first in the examination.”

 Indirect: My tutor spoke about me that I would stand first in the examination.

2. Direct: My mother said about you, “His behaviour is good.”

Indirect: My mother told about you that your behaviour was good.

Rule-3: Future Tense āĻāϰ āĻĒāϰিāĻŦāϰ্āϤāύ Conditional āϏাāĻĒেāĻ•্āώ। āĻ…āϰ্āĻĨাāϤ্ Shall/Will āĻāϰ āĻĒāϰিāĻŦāϰ্āϤে Indirect Speech āĻāϰ āϏāĻŽā§Ÿ Subject āĻāϰ āĻĒāϰে would āĻŦāϏি⧟ে āĻŦাāĻ•ী āĻ…ংāĻļ āĻŦāϏাāϤে āĻšā§Ÿ।

Examples:1.  Direct   : Shammi said to me, “I shall do it.”

Indirect: Shammi told me that she would do it.

Rule-4: Reporting verb āϟি āϝāĻĻি Present Tense āĻŦা Future Tense āĻšā§Ÿ, āϤāĻŦে Reported Speech āĻāϰ Adverb āĻāĻŦং Tense āĻāϰ āĻ•োāύ āĻĒāϰিāĻŦāϰ্āϤāύ āĻšā§Ÿ āύা। āĻ…āϰ্āĻĨাāϤ্ āĻļুāϧুāĻŽাāϤ্āϰ Reported Speech āĻāϰ Person āĻĒāϰিāĻŦāϰ্āϤāύ āĻšā§Ÿ।

Examples:

1. Direct   : Lima says, “I am well now.”

Indirect: Lima says that he is well now.

Rule-5: āĻ•িāύ্āϤু Reporting Verb āϟি Past tense āĻšāχāϞে Reported Speech āĻāϰ Verb āĻāϰ tense  āĻĒāϰিāĻŦāϰ্āϤিāϤ āĻšā§Ÿ।

1. Direct   : Shimu said to Nabil, “I was a student.”

Indirect: Shimu told Nabil that she had been a student.

Instruction-1: Direct Narration āĻ Reported Speech āĻ āϝāĻĻি “We”āĻĨাāĻ•ে āĻāĻŦং “We” āĻĻ্āĻŦাāϰা āϝāĻĻি “āĻŽাāύāĻŦāϜাāϤি” āĻŦুāĻাāϞে Indirect Narration āĻ āωāĻ•্āϤ “We” āĻāĻŦং Tense āĻ…āĻĒāϰিāĻŦāϰ্āϤিāϤ āĻĨাāĻ•ে।

Example:1. Direct   : The teacher said to the students, “We are mortal.”

Indirect: The teacher told the students that we are mortal.          

Instruction-6: “We” āĻĻ্āĻŦাāϰা āĻŦāĻ•্āϤা (Speaker) āĻāĻŦং āϝাāĻ•ে āωāĻĻ্āĻĻেāĻļ্āϝ āĻ•āϰে (Person Spoken to) āωāϭ⧟āĻ•ে āĻŦুāĻা⧟ āĻ…āϰ্āĻĨাāϤ্ Reporting verb āĻāϰ Subject āĻŦা Object āĻāϰ āϝে āĻ•োāύ āĻāĻ•āϟি First Person (I,Me,My, We,Us,Our) āĻšāϞে Indirect Narration āĻ āωāĻ•্āϤ “We’’ āĻāĻŦং We āĻĒāϰিāĻŦাāϰেāϰ Person (Us, Our, Ours) āĻ…āĻĒāϰিāĻŦāϰ্āϤিāϤ āĻĨাāĻ•ে, āĻ•িāύ্āϤু Tense āĻ“ Adverb āĻĒāϰিāĻŦāϰ্āϤিāϤ āĻšā§Ÿ। āĻāĻ•্āώেāϤ্āϰে āĻŽāύে āϰাāĻ–āϤে āĻšāĻŦে Reporting verb āĻāϰ subject/object  āĻāϰ āϝেāĻ•োāύ āĻāĻ•āϟি  1st person āĻŦা āϚিāϰāύ্āϤāύ āϏāϤ্āϝ āĻŦাāĻ•্āϝ āĻšāϞে Reported speech  āĻāϰ  We āĻŦা We  āĻĒāϰিāĻŦাāϰāĻŦāϰ্āĻ—েāϰ āĻĒāϰিāĻŦāϰ্āϤāύ āĻšā§Ÿ āύা।

Examples:

1.Direct   : Riya said to me, “We should do our duty.”

Indirect: Riya told me that we should do our duty.

Instruction-7: āĻ•িāύ্āϤু Reporting verb āĻāϰ Subject āĻŦা Object āĻšিāϏাāĻŦে First Person āĻ­িāύ্āύ āĻ…āύ্āϝ Person (He, him, his/she, her, hers/they, them, their/it, its) āĻĨাāĻ•āϞে Indirect Narration āĻ Reported Speech āĻāϰ We āĻĒāϰিāĻŦāϰ্āϤিāϤ āĻšā§Ÿে They āĻšāĻŦে। āĻ…āϰ্āĻĨাāϤ্ We āĻāϰ āϝāϤ āύāĻŽ্āĻŦāϰ āϰূāĻĒ They āĻāϰ āϤāϤ āύāĻŽ্āĻŦāϰ āϰূāĻĒ āĻŦāϏে।

Examples:

1. Direct   : Tuhin said to him, “We completed it.”

Indirect: Tuhin told him that they had completed it.
