Narration of Assertive Sentence

 



Assertive Sentence āĻāĻ° Narration āĻĒāĻ°িāĻŦāĻ°্āĻ¤āĻ¨


Rule-1: Assertive Sentence āĻ•ে Indirect Narration āĻ•āĻ°াāĻ° āĻ¸āĻŽā§Ÿ ঃ

(i)  Reporting verb-say/said āĻĒāĻ°িāĻŦāĻ°্āĻ¤িāĻ¤ āĻšā§Ÿে Tell/ Tells/Told āĻšā§Ÿ (āĻ¯āĻĻি Object āĻĨাāĻ•ে, āĻāĻ•্āĻˇেāĻ¤্āĻ°ে Tell/Tells/ Told āĻāĻ° āĻĒāĻ°ে to āĻŦāĻ¸ে āĻ¨া),āĻ•িāĻ¨্āĻ¤ু āĻ¯āĻĻি Object āĻ¨া āĻĨাāĻ•ে, āĻ¤āĻŦে Reporting verb āĻŸি āĻ…āĻĒāĻ°িāĻŦāĻ°্āĻ¤িāĻ¤ āĻĨাāĻ•ে +

(ii) Inverted Comma āĻ‰āĻ ে āĻ—িā§Ÿে that āĻŦāĻ¸ে +

(iii)Reported Speech āĻāĻ° āĻĒāĻ°িāĻŦāĻ°্āĻ¤িāĻ¤ Subject +Verb +āĻŦাāĻ•ি āĻ…ংāĻļ āĻŦāĻ¸ে।

Examples:2. Direct   : Wasi said to Lima, “I am going to Sirajganj.”

Indirect: Wasi told Lima that he was going to Sirajganj.

3. Direct   : Sumaiya said, “I had a beautiful garden.”

Indirect: Sumaiya said that she  had a beautiful garden.

Rule-2 : “Innovative Focus on -3rd Person”-Direct Narration āĻ Reported Speech āĻāĻ° āĻ…āĻ¨্āĻ¤āĻ°্āĻ—āĻ¤ 3rd Person āĻ•āĻ–āĻ¨āĻ“ āĻ•āĻ–āĻ¨āĻ“ Indirect Narration āĻ First/Second Person āĻ āĻĒāĻ°িāĻŦāĻ°্āĻ¤িāĻ¤ āĻšā§Ÿ। 

Examples:

1. Direct   : My tutor spoke about me, “He will stand first in the examination.”

 Indirect: My tutor spoke about me that I would stand first in the examination.

2. Direct: My mother said about you, “His behaviour is good.”

Indirect: My mother told about you that your behaviour was good.

Rule-3: Future Tense āĻāĻ° āĻĒāĻ°িāĻŦāĻ°্āĻ¤āĻ¨ Conditional āĻ¸াāĻĒেāĻ•্āĻˇ। āĻ…āĻ°্āĻĨাāĻ¤্ Shall/Will āĻāĻ° āĻĒāĻ°িāĻŦāĻ°্āĻ¤ে Indirect Speech āĻāĻ° āĻ¸āĻŽā§Ÿ Subject āĻāĻ° āĻĒāĻ°ে would āĻŦāĻ¸িā§Ÿে āĻŦাāĻ•ী āĻ…ংāĻļ āĻŦāĻ¸াāĻ¤ে āĻšā§Ÿ।

Examples:1.  Direct   : Shammi said to me, “I shall do it.”

Indirect: Shammi told me that she would do it.

Rule-4: Reporting verb āĻŸি āĻ¯āĻĻি Present Tense āĻŦা Future Tense āĻšā§Ÿ, āĻ¤āĻŦে Reported Speech āĻāĻ° Adverb āĻāĻŦং Tense āĻāĻ° āĻ•োāĻ¨ āĻĒāĻ°িāĻŦāĻ°্āĻ¤āĻ¨ āĻšā§Ÿ āĻ¨া। āĻ…āĻ°্āĻĨাāĻ¤্ āĻļুāĻ§ুāĻŽাāĻ¤্āĻ° Reported Speech āĻāĻ° Person āĻĒāĻ°িāĻŦāĻ°্āĻ¤āĻ¨ āĻšā§Ÿ।

Examples:

1. Direct   : Lima says, “I am well now.”

Indirect: Lima says that he is well now.

Rule-5: āĻ•িāĻ¨্āĻ¤ু Reporting Verb āĻŸি Past tense āĻšāĻ‡āĻ˛ে Reported Speech āĻāĻ° Verb āĻāĻ° tense  āĻĒāĻ°িāĻŦāĻ°্āĻ¤িāĻ¤ āĻšā§Ÿ।

1. Direct   : Shimu said to Nabil, “I was a student.”

Indirect: Shimu told Nabil that she had been a student.

Instruction-1: Direct Narration āĻ Reported Speech āĻ āĻ¯āĻĻি “We”āĻĨাāĻ•ে āĻāĻŦং “We” āĻĻ্āĻŦাāĻ°া āĻ¯āĻĻি “āĻŽাāĻ¨āĻŦāĻœাāĻ¤ি” āĻŦুāĻাāĻ˛ে Indirect Narration āĻ āĻ‰āĻ•্āĻ¤ “We” āĻāĻŦং Tense āĻ…āĻĒāĻ°িāĻŦāĻ°্āĻ¤িāĻ¤ āĻĨাāĻ•ে।

Example:1. Direct   : The teacher said to the students, “We are mortal.”

Indirect: The teacher told the students that we are mortal.          

Instruction-6: “We” āĻĻ্āĻŦাāĻ°া āĻŦāĻ•্āĻ¤া (Speaker) āĻāĻŦং āĻ¯াāĻ•ে āĻ‰āĻĻ্āĻĻেāĻļ্āĻ¯ āĻ•āĻ°ে (Person Spoken to) āĻ‰āĻ­ā§ŸāĻ•ে āĻŦুāĻাā§Ÿ āĻ…āĻ°্āĻĨাāĻ¤্ Reporting verb āĻāĻ° Subject āĻŦা Object āĻāĻ° āĻ¯ে āĻ•োāĻ¨ āĻāĻ•āĻŸি First Person (I,Me,My, We,Us,Our) āĻšāĻ˛ে Indirect Narration āĻ āĻ‰āĻ•্āĻ¤ “We’’ āĻāĻŦং We āĻĒāĻ°িāĻŦাāĻ°েāĻ° Person (Us, Our, Ours) āĻ…āĻĒāĻ°িāĻŦāĻ°্āĻ¤িāĻ¤ āĻĨাāĻ•ে, āĻ•িāĻ¨্āĻ¤ু Tense āĻ“ Adverb āĻĒāĻ°িāĻŦāĻ°্āĻ¤িāĻ¤ āĻšā§Ÿ। āĻāĻ•্āĻˇেāĻ¤্āĻ°ে āĻŽāĻ¨ে āĻ°াāĻ–āĻ¤ে āĻšāĻŦে Reporting verb āĻāĻ° subject/object  āĻāĻ° āĻ¯েāĻ•োāĻ¨ āĻāĻ•āĻŸি  1st person āĻŦা āĻšিāĻ°āĻ¨্āĻ¤āĻ¨ āĻ¸āĻ¤্āĻ¯ āĻŦাāĻ•্āĻ¯ āĻšāĻ˛ে Reported speech  āĻāĻ°  We āĻŦা We  āĻĒāĻ°িāĻŦাāĻ°āĻŦāĻ°্āĻ—েāĻ° āĻĒāĻ°িāĻŦāĻ°্āĻ¤āĻ¨ āĻšā§Ÿ āĻ¨া।

Examples:

1.Direct   : Riya said to me, “We should do our duty.”

Indirect: Riya told me that we should do our duty.

Instruction-7: āĻ•িāĻ¨্āĻ¤ু Reporting verb āĻāĻ° Subject āĻŦা Object āĻšিāĻ¸াāĻŦে First Person āĻ­িāĻ¨্āĻ¨ āĻ…āĻ¨্āĻ¯ Person (He, him, his/she, her, hers/they, them, their/it, its) āĻĨাāĻ•āĻ˛ে Indirect Narration āĻ Reported Speech āĻāĻ° We āĻĒāĻ°িāĻŦāĻ°্āĻ¤িāĻ¤ āĻšā§Ÿে They āĻšāĻŦে। āĻ…āĻ°্āĻĨাāĻ¤্ We āĻāĻ° āĻ¯āĻ¤ āĻ¨āĻŽ্āĻŦāĻ° āĻ°ূāĻĒ They āĻāĻ° āĻ¤āĻ¤ āĻ¨āĻŽ্āĻŦāĻ° āĻ°ূāĻĒ āĻŦāĻ¸ে।

Examples:

1. Direct   : Tuhin said to him, “We completed it.”

Indirect: Tuhin told him that they had completed it.
