Affirmative to negative

Rule 1:


Only āĻŦা alone āĻāϰ āĻĒāϰিāĻŦāϰ্āϤে āωāϤ্āϤāϰ āĻŦাāĻ•্āϝেāϰ āĻļুāϰুāϤে None but āĻŦāϏে। āφāϰ āĻ•োāύ āĻĒāϰিāĻŦāϰ্āϤāύ āĻšā§Ÿāύা।


Only Allah can save us.

Note: āĻŦāϏ্āϤুāϰ āĻ•্āώেāϤ্āϰে only āĻāϰ āĻĒāϰিāĻŦāϰ্āϤে nothing but āĻŦāϏে। āϤāĻŦে āĻŦ⧟āϏেāϰ āĻ•্āώেāϤ্āϰে āĻŦা āϏংāĻ–্āϝাāϰ āĻ•্āώেāϤ্āϰে only āĻāϰ āĻĒāϰিāĻŦāϰ্āϤে not more than āĻŦāϏে।


Affirmative: He is only seven.

Negative: He is not more than seven.

Affirmative: We have only two cars.

Negative: We have not more than two cars.


Rule 2:


Affirmative sentence āĻ must āĻĨাāĻ•āϞে negative āĻ•āϰাāϰ āϏāĻŽā§Ÿ must āĻāϰ āĻĒāϰিāĻŦāϰ্āϤে can not but/ can not help āĻŦāϏে। āϤāĻŦে can not help āĻāϰ āĻĒāϰে āϝে verb āĻĨাāĻ•ে āϤাāϰ āϏাāĻĨে ing āϝুāĻ•্āϤ āĻ•āϰāϤে āĻšā§Ÿ।


Affirmative: We must yield to your fate.

Negative: We can not but yield to your fate.

Affirmative: We must obey our parents.

Negative: We can not but obey our parents.

Affirmative: You must care them.

Negative: You can not help caring them.


Rule 3:


Every āĻ•ে Negative āĻ•āϰāϤে āĻšāϞে Every āĻāϰ āĻĒāϰিāĻŦāϰ্āϤে There is no āĻŦāϏে + every āĻāϰ āĻĒāϰেāϰ āĻļāĻŦ্āĻĻāϟি āĻŦāϏে + but + āĻĒ্āϰāĻĻāϤ্āϤ sentence āĻāϰ āĻŦাāĻ•ী āĻ…ংāĻļ।


Affirmative: Everyone hates a liar.

Negative: There is no one but hates a liar.

Affirmative: Everybody fears a lion.

Negative: There is nobody but fears a lion.


Rule 4:


As soon as āϝুāĻ•্āϤ sentence āĻ•ে Negative āĻ•āϰāϤে āĻšāϞে-


As soon as āĻāϰ āϜা⧟āĻ—া⧟ no sooner had āĻŦāϏāĻŦে + āĻĒ্āϰāĻĻāϤ্āϤ Sentence āĻāϰ āĻ•āϰ্āϤা āĻŦāϏে + āϏে Sentence āĻāϰ āĻŽূāϞ verb āĻāϰ past participle form āĻŦāϏে + āϏে sentence āĻŦাāĻ•ী āĻ…ংāĻļ āĻŦāϏে + than + āĻĻ্āĻŦিāϤী⧟ āĻŦাāĻ•্āϝ āĻŦāϏে।


Affirmative: As soon as he saw the ferocious wolf, he ran away.

Negative: No sooner had he seen the ferocious wolf than he ran away.

Negative: No sooner had the thief seen the police than he ran away.

Affirmative: As soon as the thief saw the police,  he ran away.


Rule 5:


Affirmative sentence āĻ•ে Negative āĻ•āϰাāϰ āϏāĻŽā§Ÿ āωāĻ•্āϤ sentence āĻāϰ Affirmative āĻļāĻŦ্āĻĻāϟিāϰ Negative āϰূāĻĒ āĻŦāϏাāϤে āĻšā§Ÿ। āĻāĻŦং āωāĻ•্āϤ Negative āĻāϰ āĻĒূāϰ্āĻŦে not āĻŦāϏাāϤে āĻšā§Ÿ। āĻŦাāĻ•ী āϏāĻŦ āĻ িāĻ• āĻĨাāĻ•ে।


Affirmative: He is an honest man.

Negative: He is not a dishonest man.

Affirmative: Sihab is a good boy.

Negative: Sihab is not a bad boy.

Affirmative: This is an extra-ordinary novel.

Negative: This is not an ordinary novel.


Rule 6:


Always āϝুāĻ•্āϤ Affirmative sentence āĻ•ে Negative āĻ•āϰāϤে āĻšāϞে Always āĻāϰ āĻĒāϰিāĻŦāϰ্āϤে never āĻŦāϏে। Affirmative āĻļāĻŦ্āĻĻāϟিāϰ Negative āϰূāĻĒ āĻŦāϏাāϤে āĻšā§Ÿ।


Affirmative: He was always punctual.

Negative: He was never late.

Affirmative: I always tell the truth.

Negative: I never tell a lie.


Rule 7:


Superlative degree āϝুāĻ•্āϤ Affirmative sentence āĻ•ে Negative āĻ•āϰāϤে āĻšāϞে –


No other + superlative āĻāϰ āĻĒāϰেāϰ āĻ…ংāĻļ + verb + as + superlative degree āĻāϰ positive form + as + āĻĒ্āϰāĻĻāϤ্āϤ sentence āĻāϰ subject.


Affirmative: He is the best boy in the class.

Negative: No other boy in the class is as good as he.

Affirmative: You are the best boy in the class.

Negative: No other boy in the class is as good as you.


Rule 8:


Than any other/than all other āϝুāĻ•্āϤ comparative degree āĻ•ে Negative āĻ•āϰāϤে āĻšāϞে –


No other + any other/all other āĻāϰ āĻĒāϰেāϰ āĻ…ংāĻļ āĻŦāϏে + āĻĒ্āϰāĻĻāϤ্āϤ verb + so/as āĻŦāϏে + comparative degree āĻāϰ positive form + as + āĻĒ্āϰāĻĻāϤ্āϤ sentence āĻāϰ subject.


Affirmative: He is better than any other boy in the class.

Negative: No other boy in the class is as good as him.

Affirmative: Dhaka is bigger than all other cities in Bangladesh.

Negative: No other city in Bangladesh is as big as Dhaka.


Rule 9:


Than āϝুāĻ•্āϤ comparative degree āĻ•ে Negative āĻ•āϰāϤে āĻšāϞে –


Than āĻāϰ āĻļেāώেāϰ āĻ…ংāĻļ āĻĒ্āϰāĻĨāĻŽে āĻŦāϏে + verb (tense āĻ“ person āĻ…āύুāϝা⧟ী) + not + so/as + comparative degree āĻāϰ positive form + as + āĻĒ্āϰāĻĻāϤ্āϤ sentence āĻāϰ subject.


Affirmative: He is stronger than you.

Negative: You are not as/so strong as him.

Affirmative: I am taller than you.

Negative: You are not as tall as me.


Rule 10:


As....as āϝুāĻ•্āϤ positive degree āĻ•ে Negative āĻ•āϰāϤে āĻšāϞে –


āĻĒ্āϰāĻĨāĻŽ as āĻāϰ āĻĒāϰিāĻŦāϰ্āϤে not less āĻļেāώ as āĻāϰ āĻĒāϰিāĻŦāϰ্āϤে than āĻŦāϏে।


Affirmative: Rahi and Rahat were as strong as Rubel.

Negative: Rahi and Rahat were not less strong than Rubel.

Affirmative: He is as good as you.

Negative: He is not less good than you.


Rule 11:


Less...than āϝুāĻ•্āϤ sentence āĻ•ে Negative āĻ•āϰāϤে āĻšāϞে –


Less āĻāϰ āϜা⧟āĻ—া⧟ not as āĻŦāϏāĻŦে āĻāĻŦং than āĻāϰ āϜা⧟āĻ—া⧟ as āĻŦāϏāĻŦে।


Affirmative: He is less ugly than you said.

Negative: He is not as ugly as you said.

Affirmative: You are less good than he said.

Negative: You are not as good as he said.


Rule 12:


Too.....to āϝুāĻ•্āϤ sentence āĻ•ে Negative āĻ•āϰāϤে āĻšāϞে –


Too āĻāϰ āϜা⧟āĻ—া⧟ so āĻŦāϏে + Too āĻāϰ āĻĒāϰেāϰ adjective/adverb āĻŦāϏে + that āĻŦāϏে + āĻĒāύুāϰা⧟ subject āĻŦāϏে। + tense āĻ…āύুāϝা⧟ী can not/could not + āĻĒ্āϰāĻĻāϤ্āϤ to āĻāϰ āĻĒāϰেāϰ āĻ…ংāĻļ āĻŦāϏে।


Affirmative: He is too weak to walk.

Negative: He is so weak that he can not walk.

Affirmative: The sum was too difficult for me to work out.

Negative: The sum was so difficult for me that I could not work out.

Affirmative: The luggage was too heavy to carry.

Negative: The luggage was so heavy that we could not carry it
