Difference between Possessive Pronoun and Possessive Adjective:


✏️A possessive adjective is a word that shows ownership or possession and comes before a noun to describe it.


👉 Possessive adjective āĻšāϞো āĻāĻŽāύ āĻļāĻŦ্āĻĻ āϝা āĻ•োāύো noun-āĻāϰ āφāĻ—ে āĻŦāϏে āĻāĻŦং āĻŦোāĻা⧟ āϏেāχ noun āĻ•াāϰ āĻŦা āĻ•াāϰ āĻ…āϧিāĻ•াāϰāĻ­ুāĻ•্āϤ।


Examples:


This is my book. (→ āĻŦāχāϟি āφāĻŽাāϰ)


That is their house. (→ āĻ“āϟা āϤাāĻĻেāϰ āĻŦা⧜ি)



*Possessive Pronoun:

A possessive pronoun is a word that shows ownership or possession but is used instead of a noun (it replaces the noun).


👉Possessive pronoun āĻšāϞো āĻāĻŽāύ āĻļāĻŦ্āĻĻ āϝা āĻ•োāύো noun-āĻāϰ āĻĒāϰিāĻŦāϰ্āϤে āĻŦ্āϝāĻŦāĻšৃāϤ āĻšā§Ÿ āĻāĻŦং āĻŦোāĻা⧟ āϏেāχ āϜিāύিāϏ āĻ•াāϰ।


Examples:


This book is mine. (→ āĻŦāχāϟা āφāĻŽাāϰ)


The house is ours. (→ āĻŦা⧜িāϟা āφāĻŽাāĻĻেāϰ)



*"Shortcut Trick to Remember:


Adjective = Noun-āĻāϰ āφāĻ—ে āĻŦāϏে (my pen)


Pronoun = Noun-āĻāϰ āϜা⧟āĻ—া⧟ āĻŦāϏে (The pen is mine)


1. My / Mine


Adjective: This is my pen. (→ āĻāϟি āφāĻŽাāϰ āĻ•āϞāĻŽ)

Pronoun: This pen is mine. (→ āĻ•āϞāĻŽāϟি āφāĻŽাāϰ)




2. Your / Yours


Adjective: Where is your bag? (→ āϤোāĻŽাāϰ āĻŦ্āϝাāĻ— āĻ•োāĻĨাāϝ়?)


Pronoun: The bag is yours. (→ āĻŦ্āϝাāĻ—āϟা āϤোāĻŽাāϰ)



3. His / His


(His āĻĻু’āĻ­াāĻŦেāχ āĻŦ্āϝāĻŦāĻšাāϰ āĻšā§Ÿ – adjective āĻ“ pronoun āφāϞাāĻĻা āφāϞাāĻĻা āϰূāĻĒ āύেāχ)


Adjective: That is his book. (→ āĻ“āϟা āϤাāϰ āĻŦāχ)


Pronoun: The book is his. (→ āĻŦāχāϟা āϤাāϰ)




4. Her / Hers


Adjective: I like her dress. (→ āφāĻŽি āϤাāϰ āĻĒোāĻļাāĻ•āϟি āĻĒāĻ›āύ্āĻĻ āĻ•āϰি)


Pronoun: The dress is hers. (→ āĻĒোāĻļাāĻ•āϟি āϤাāϰ)


5. Their / Theirs


Adjective: This is their garden. (→ āĻāϟি āϤাāĻĻেāϰ āĻŦাāĻ—াāύ)


Pronoun: The garden is theirs. (→ āĻŦাāĻ—াāύāϟা āϤাāĻĻেāϰ)




6. Our / Ours


Adjective: We love our country. (→ āφāĻŽāϰা āφāĻŽাāĻĻেāϰ āĻĻেāĻļāĻ•ে āĻ­াāϞোāĻŦাāϏি)


Pronoun: The country is ours. (→ āĻĻেāĻļāϟা āφāĻŽাāĻĻেāϰ)

Possessive Adjective → noun-āĻāϰ āφāĻ—ে āĻŦāϏে (my book, her pen)


Possessive Pronoun → noun-āĻāϰ āϜা⧟āĻ—া⧟ āĻŦāϏে (book is mine, pen is hers)
