REPORT ON TRAFFIC PROBLEMS IN DHAKA CITY By Sakib Hasan, Member, City Youth Forum Introduction This report discusses the increasing traffic problems in Dhaka city, highlighting major causes and suggesting possible solutions. Findings Traffic congestion has become a daily struggle for city dwellers. The primary causes include illegal parking on narrow roads, poorly maintained streets, and the absence of proper traffic control. Public transport is often overcrowded, while private vehicles increase day by day, worsening the situation. Reckless driving and violation of traffic rules also contribute to road chaos. Pedestrians face great risks due to the lack of footpaths and road crossings. Conclusion The traffic condition in Dhaka is alarming and needs immediate attention. It affects productivity and causes stress among commuters. Recommendations Strict laws against illegal parking, regular road maintenance, better traffic signal systems, and encouraging the use of public transport can improve the situation. Awareness campaigns should also be launched for drivers and pedestrians. Happy learning 😄
