কিছু phrases বা words যেগুলো থাকলে verb প্রথম subject অনুযায়ী পরিবর্তিত হয় — অর্থাৎ, প্রথম subject অনুযায়ী verb এর number (singular/plural) নির্ধারিত হয়:

1. Along with

Example: The teacher along with the students is going on a trip.

(মূল subject: The teacher → singular → verb: is)

2. As well as

Example: The principal as well as the teachers has arrived.

(মূল subject: The principal → singular → verb: has)

3. Together with

Example: Sanim together with his friends is playing football.

(মূল subject: Sanim → singular → verb: is)

4. In addition to

Example: The captain in addition to the players was honored.

(মূল subject: The captain → singular → verb: was)

5. Accompanied by

Example: The manager accompanied by his assistants is here.

(মূল subject: The manager → singular → verb: is)

6. Besides

Example: My brother besides his friends has come.

(মূল subject: My brother → singular → verb: has)

7. Like

Example: The boy like his brother wants to be a doctor.

(মূল subject: The boy → singular → verb: wants)

নিয়মটি মনে রাখার উপায়:

যখন দুটি subject এর মাঝে উপরের কোন phrase থাকে, তখন verb প্রথম subject অনুযায়ী পরিবর্তিত হয়। Phrase-এর পরের অংশটিকে আলাদা করে দেখলে সহজ হয়।

 অনুযায়ী পরিবর্তিত হয় — অর্থাৎ, প্রথম subject অনুযায়ী verb এর number (singular/plural) নির্ধারিত হয়:

1. Along with সাথে

Example:

The teacher along with the students is going on a trip.

(মূল subject: The teacher → singular → verb: is)

2. As well as এবং/ তদুপরি

Example:

The principal as well as the teachers has arrived.

(মূল subject: The principal → singular → verb: has)

3. Together with একসাথে/ সাথে

Example:

Sanim together with his friends is playing football.

(মূল subject: John → singular → verb: is)

4. In addition to এছাড়া

Example:

The captain in addition to the players was honored.

5. Accompanied by সাথে/ সহযোগী

Example:
