Wh questions/ How to politely ask questions

 

আমরা দৈনন্দিন জীবনে ইংরেজিতে কথা বলার সময় কিছু modal auxiliary ( can, could, shall, should, would, may, might) ব্যবহার করে প্রশ্ন করি ও উত্তর জানার চেষ্টা করি। 

যা শিখলে নিজেকে অনেকটাই এগিয়ে রাখা সম্ভব 

1. Would you mind having a cup of coffee? ( More formal). দয়া করে এক কাপ কফি খাবেন কি?

2. Could you bring the glass? তুমি কি গ্লাসটি আনবে?

3. May I come in, Sir? স্যার, ভিতরে আসতে পারি?

4. Would you come here? তুমি কি এখানে আসবে?

5. Would you please do the work? ( More formal) দয়া করে কাজটি করবে?

6. Would you please go with me? ( More formal) দয়া করে আমার সাথে যাবে?

7. Shall you shut the door? দরজাটি বন্ধ করবে?

8. Should you pass the salt? লবনটা এদিকে দিবে?

9. Can you open the door? দরজাটি খুলবে?

10. Could you tell me how to get to the post office? দয়া করে বলবেন  কী কিভাবে আমি ডাকঘরে যেতে পারি?

11. Could you tell me the way to the the post office? পোস্ট অফিসে যাওয়ার রাস্তা কোন দিকে?

12. Do you know where he lives in? তুমি কী জান সে কোথায় বাস করে?

13. Do you know what his name is? তুমি কি জানো তার নাম কী?

14. Would you mind if I sit here? আমি কি এখানে বসতে পারি?

15. Can you bring the book? বইটি আনতে পারো?

16. Can you tell me how to get to the post office? দয়া করে বলবেন  কী কিভাবে আমি ডাকঘরে যেতে পারি?

17. Could you tell me where the mosque is? দয়া করে বলবেন মসজিদটি কোথায়?

18. Would you go? তুমি কি যাবে?

19. Would you take it? তুমি কি এটা নিবে?

20. Excuse me, where is the nearest bus stop? এই যে শুনুন, কাছাকাছি কোন বাসস্টেশন আছে?

21. Excuse me what time is it? দয়া করে বলবেন এখন কয়টা বাজে?

22. Pardon me, is there a bathroom over here? দয়া করে বলবেন এখানে কোন টয়লেট আছে কি-না?

23. Sorry to bother you, but have you seen Jahid at all?" আপনাকে বিরক্ত করার জন্য দুঃখিত, আপনি কী জাহিদকে দেখেছেন?

24. Can you please explain that to me again? দয়া করে আর একবার বুঝিয়ে দিবেন?

25. May I have another cookie, please? আমি আর একটা কুকি পেতে পারি?

26. Can I have your mobile?- আমি কি তোমার মোবাইল পেতে পারি?

27. Can I have your address? - আমি কি তোমার ঠিকানা পেতে পারি?

29.  Can I have your name? - আমি কি তোমার নাম জানতে পারি?

30. Can I have your number? - আমি কি আপনার নাম্বার পেতে পারি?

31. Can I have a cup of tea? – আমি কি এক কাপ চা পেতে পারি?

32. Would you mind telling me where the bathroom is?" ( More formal) দয়া করে বলবেন কি টয়লেটটি কোথায়?

 37. Could you please sit aside?  দয়া করে আপনি সরে বসবেন?

 38. Would you mind helping me with my homework? আমার বাড়ির কাজে সাহায্য করবেন?

 39. Can I borrow your pen? আমি কি তোমার কলমটা ধার নিতে পারি?

 40. Can you lend me your English book for a day? তুমি কি একদিনের জন্য তোমার ইংরেজি বইটা ধার দিবে?

 41. Can you give me change for a five hundred taka note? তুমি কি ৫০০ টাকা ভাংতি দিতে পারো?

 42. Could I have another piece of cake? আমি কি আর এক টুকরো কেক নিতে পারি?

 43. Do you mind if I open the window? জানালা খুললে আপনি কি কিছু মনে করবেন?

 44. Would you mind if I stay for the night? আমি যদি রাতটা থাকি আপনি কি কিছু মনে করবেন?

 45. Can you give a hand carrying my bag? তুমি কি ব্যাগটা বহন করতে সাহায্য করবে?

 46. Can you keep an eye to my younger son? আপনি কি আমার ছোট ছেলের প্রতি খেয়াল রাখতে পারবেন?

 47. Can you please turn the TV off? তুমি কি দয়া করে টিভিটা বন্ধ করবে?

 48. Can you turn the TV on? তুমি কি দয়া করে টিভিটা চালু করবে?

 49. Could you turn the fan up? তুমি কি দয়া করে ফ্যানটার গতি বাড়িয়ে দিবে?

 50. Can you turn the fan down?তুমি কি দয়া করে ফ্যানটার গতি কমিয়ে দিবে?

 51. Can I go out, please? আমি কি বাইরে যেতে পারি?

 52. Would you mind if I leave now? আমি কি এখন যেতে পারি?

 53. Would you like some tea? চা খাবেন কি?

 54. Will you switch on the TV, please? দয়া করে টিভিটা বন্ধ করুন।

 55. Could you tell me the way to the railway station, please? রেলস্টেশন কোন দিকে দয়া করে বলবেন কি?

 56. Could you please help me with my maths? দয়া করে আমার অংকটাতে সাহায্য করবে?

Giving permission:

1. Yes, of course.

2. Sure.

3. Certainly 

4. Yes,sure.

5. Sure, go ahead.

6. No problem

7. Please feel free

8. Yes, I'd love to 

9. I'd like to

10. Yes, why not

11. Yea, sure

12. Sure, it's alright

13. Sure, I don't mind

Refusing permission: ( in case of refusal, it is better to say the reasonsl)

1. Sorry

2. I'm sorry

3. I'm afraid

4. No way

5. No chance ( informal)

6. Nope

7. No problem

8. Sorry, u can't

9. Sorry, I need to say no

10. Sorry, that's not possible
